It is such an easy step to take before driving. The video puts the necessity of seat belts in perspective. Why would people NOT wear them.
Thanx

Very compelling and profound! This is very heart felt after losing a family member in a tragic accident. My husband and I always wear our seatbelts and we have taught our children the same. Thank you for sharing this.

I had an accident 38 years ago and I was told if I had been wearing my seatbelt, I would have broken my neck. I was driving a Volts Wagon Fastback and was hit from the rear. I had been fearful of wearing a seatbelt since then. Watching this commercial did not increase my faith in seatbelts but it did remind me that of the faith I have in God. The little girl, for me represented, my guardian angel and reminded me that God is always watching out for me. So, I can put my seatbelt on, obey the laws of NC, and know that nothing will happen to me that will not glorify God.

I am 64 and have NEVER worn a seatbelt in my life and don’t plan to start. Have seen a similar accident where a girl died because of wearing a seatbelt. They are very dangerous!

Hi Charlie,

I think there are always cases where a safety device can contribute to a death. I’m not a statistician, but I’m confident that the numbers show that more lives have been saved than lost when seat belts were used.

Murial, whoever told you that you would have broken your neck if you were wearing your seatbelt lied to you. The 3-point seatbelt is 78% of your protection in an accident. The airbag cannot protect your head if you don’t have your seatbelt on as you go right over the steering wheel. You were given very bad advice.

I am under the impression that the seatbelts of today are not the same as the seatbelts 30 years ago. They are much safer.

curt March 4, 2010 at 9:41 am

That was an act of compassionate love to protect the one they loved. One does not think of a seat belt in that way. Perhaps we should. God gave someone the idea for a seat belt as an act of love to protect His children.
Bravo
Thanks for the video
I have not been wearing mine but i will now.

Hi There,
Thanks for the beautiful message you shared by encouraging people to watch this video… it moved me deeply and reminded me of the powerful reasons WHY it is so important to wear a seat-belt.
Thank-you.

Very well done. Great concept and it gets the message across. Also very good use of speed in film. The glitter was inspiring for the symbolic use of shattered glass. Great job with the actors expressions. Nice touch with the little girl with the fairy god mother like wings. Symbolic of your fairy god mother is looking out for you, or that the seatbelt is your fairy god mother. Beautiful lighting, most people forget about the lighting. short to the point and pin points the heart. Maybe, people will start to listen and stop ignoring their seat belts. I would like to see one used for texting. To show how easy it is to get into a wreck while texting. Now theirs a challenge.

Both my eldest daughter and myself were involved in a head-on collision in March of 1997. She had her seatbelt on…I did not and now have a life long spinal cord injury.

This seat belt video was a very touching video, its brings home the importance of wearing a seat belt. An accident could happen anywhere, even just as your driving away from your home. Statistics prove that wearing a seat belt has saved more lives sine it became compulsory to wear one then before when it wasn’t.

This is so powerful. I cried just in that short amount of time. People don’t think of what they could loose if they don’t buckle up, they just do it so a cop doesn’t have a reason to pull them over….But this video CLEARLY shows everything that matters. Thank you, I wear my seatbelt already, but now i will be doing it for a totally different matter!

Very beautiful emotional commercial.
Where I live seat belts are the law. I have a few friends and a niece that have been injured for life from not wearing their seatbelts in a car accident. My niece has brain and spinal damage for rest of her life. She was in the very serious car accident, she wasn’t wearing her seatbelt and the driver was. She almost died from the accident. She was 16 yrs old at that time. The driver came out with a minor bruises. You’ll never know when that crucial day will come, so be ready. Always wear your seat belt. Even if it isn’t law were you live.
For you have people that love you and will miss you very much.

Exellent messege, Yes you can believe that there are angels among us however as a family we are an investment to one another because we pour our lives into each other and therefore out of love we should hold each other accountable to be safe when we are apart from each other for we are not with each other 24-7. Always start you day praying as a family, and when we walk out that door always tell your husband or wife and kids I love you, hearing it makes all the difference in the world…… when we’re still here! Blessings!

I have been an Emergency Medical Technician for 20 years with our local volunteer fire department. In all of those years of helping folks, I witnessed death of the occupants wearing their seat belts only twice that I can remember. One was a head on collision where both cars were traveling extremely fast and the other was a car that was “T Boned” (A direct hit from the side) and the neck was broken. Any other accidents, the seat belt saved their lives, especially in a roll over. So I can’t stress enough to wear those seat belts. They WILL save lives. That is why they are in the car…. for you.

BECAUSE…
Ignoring seatbelt…you are ignoring your life and your loved ones.

Well I have worked in advertising and marketing for a number of years trying to persuade people to buy things, or take a particular course of action, this has to be the best video I have ever seen. To put across it’s message so powerfully in such a short space of time is nothing short of amazing. The choice of music bed, the actor and actresses, the lighting and the direction are all brilliant. Well done to everyone concerned in its production. It even made me cry, and I know others have too, both men and women; that’s some testimony to how well it makes its point in around 90 seconds.

Very good PSA. Now if we can just get drivers to start paying better attention while they have their seat belts on! As important as seat belts are, and I always wear them too, they can give you a false sense of security in many cases. What do I mean by that? Glad you asked! – Seat belts are 100% more effective when you can avoid accidents in the first place. STOP fiddling with your stereo, yapping it up on cell phones, texting, or eating & drinking (especially anything w alcohol!) The bottom line – Distracted driving kills and maims thousands every year. Pay attention and watch the road. The life you save may be your own, or mine!

This fantastic! It’s too bad that this isn’t a required viewing for every
person prior to receiving their first Drivers License, I had friend a that he
was happy that he didn’t need to wear a seat-belt now that airbags were
available. Notice said: Had a friend.

I totally misinterpreted this video when I was watching it. It is entitled Embrace Life and as I was watching it I thought that his family saw him frightened or what looked like something that could be tragic coming his way and they came to stop it or support him and help bring him through the situation.

Very artistic and touching way to drive a point home. I unfortunately have found myself lately taking too many chances and risking not wearing one. Always in a rush trying to do too many things at once. This video along with that lil voice in my head reminded me to just take that extra minute and put on the life saving gadget! Besides it’s the law.

Symbolism. In essence you are wearing your seat belt for those that care about you- for they will be the ones left suffering if you are lost in a tragic accident. They will be the ones asking themselves why didn’t he wear his seatbelt? Didn’t he love us enough? If your family was watching you go through something tramatic, they are there to sheild you from the trauma. I love the butterfly wings they added to the daughter- such an everyday detail to those who have daughters, yet, its life (butterfly) holding on to him.

“Seat belts cause injuries and fatalities” is a cop-out. It’s a numbers game. Seat belts, by far, prevent more injuries and fatalities than cause injuries and fatalities. Knowing the odds, there’s no question which gamble to take.

Cold Chills!! Man… excellent video reminder to wear your seatbelt!
Buck you and your family did a great job-I applaud it and wish it were on television for all the drivers to see. A seatbelt saved my life in 1991. I just wish I had also worn the shoulder strap-cause now I have a monster size scar on my forehead that goes about 2 inches up into my hair. I was very, very, very, lucky to survive hitting a piece of construction equipment (a small crane) on a trailer that had broken down. Distracted delivery driver at the time is what caused the wreck. You bet I always wear my seatbelt now + shoulderstrap, and pay attention to the road! And I haven’t had a ticket or accident since then (19 years). God Bless all the drivers on the road.

I had never worn a seatbelt until just a few years ago. I was witness to crash in which a driver in a convertible was being ejected over the top of the windshield…yes, the top was down. His seatbelt stopped his ejection as he and I were making eye contact. I ran into the street where his car had stopped. He was hyperventilating…I asked was he OK? Finally, he said yes. I told him the seat belt had saved his life as he would have been thrown into heavy traffic traveling 50+ miles per hour…that’s the day I began wearing mine….I never start my vehicle without it.

I attended the funeral of my second cousin this past Saturday, 4/10/2010. She dropped her cell phone and when she reached for it she turned the car into a ditch. When the car hit the ditch the air bag deployed and she paniced and hit the gas which threw her vehicle across the road and into a concrete wall. The car flipped and she was thrown out and the car landed on her. Her body was so mangled the casket could not be opened…..All the investigators said if she had been wearing her seat belts she would have survived the crash….SEAT BELTS AND CELL PHONES…There’s not much more to say– RIP

Oh heck, for those of you (Charlie) who say seatbelts are dangerous, just try one day to wear it, slam on your brakes, and see how it locks you in place. Just imagine going alot faster and actually having an impact with another vehicle or an object. If you still can’t get past that, wear the damn seat belt because it’s the law !! Our creator watches out over children, drunks and fools. You belong in the last category.
