THANK YOU VERY MUCH. M.H.
Very helpful information =-) Thankyou
Hi,
Thanks for your very informative clips.
Is not Vit D also found in cod mliver oil caps?
Are they ok?
Thanks and God bless
Eileen
Hi Eileen,
Cod Liver Oil DOES in fact contain natural sources of Vitamin D, Vitamin A and essential fatty acids. You’ll want to check the the IU (International Units) per serving to make sure you’re getting a sufficient dosage and that the oil is 100% free from any heavy metal or toxic chemical contamination (i.e. mercury).
My research indicates you should shoot for an intake of at least 2,000 IU’s of Vitamin D3 per day.

Thank you, this is an “excellent” resource; both in casual presentation and with reinforcement of how essential the hormone-like Vitamin D-3 is to thwart viruses that incite the infections of colds and flu.
In our case, while living in the PNW [far north of equator] my husband and I now use Vit D-3 at 15,000 IU/day since tests have revealed lower blood levels…when this result must be in the >60-80 range to not only impede colds/flues and a variety of cancers, but also to provide substantial bone repair and strength. So, many thanks to Buck [and Shannon :-] for your straight-to-the point and accurate video which I promise to share on, far and wide!
For what it’s worth, may we all do our homework and then employ the intuitive sense to reject any of the inherently dangerous ‘flu’ vaccines [mercury neuro-toxin/squalene adjuvants/formaldehyde, etc.] while choosing a more organic strategy with high dose Vit D-3 so as to BE and REMAIN “well.” Thanks for this humanitarian service, and all best wishes for your continued success in touting strategies which are, by biological design, quite able to provide a superior experience with both a natural and robust reality of ‘true’ health and vitality, Dar L.
I tried to listen your video but it would stop every 3rd or 4th word and I had trouble listening to it. Do you have another way I can see this video without interruption?
Hi Augustine,
Sorry you were having trouble viewing the video. Here are a couple of alternate links:

My mother has c o p d would it be good for her
to take vitamin D? She gets real sick if any around
her has a cold.
Hi Vickie,
Most definitely! A recent study showed the majority of those diagnosed with COPD had low Vitamin D levels.
Here’s a great link of resources related to COPD and Vitamin D:

thanks for your insight…but if this is this case why did it seemingly originate in Mexico a sunnier part of the world??
Hi Buck,
Thank you for the info and wonderful way to pass the word on. If you have some references at hand about the recent studies about Vit D3 and prevention of infectious disease (i.e. colds, flu) could you please share them with us? Thanks!
Cecilia
Dear Buck,
Thank you for the excellent info on Vitamin D3 to naturally boost our immune system. Are there any dangers in taking high doses, when you have a hypothyroid condition and are taking the drug Synthroid (or drugs known as thiazide diuretics)…? I have read that certain conditions known as “Vitamin D hypersensitivity syndromes”..(seen with conditions such as sarcoidosis, tuberculosis, Crohn’s disease, adrenal insufficiency, and thyroid disease, increase the risk for elevated blood calcium levels (hypercalcemis), which is the only mechanism of toxicity for Vitamin D. If one has a thyroid condition, and wants to take higher doses of Vitamin D…would you then just recommend having your serum calcium levels checked more frequently…say every one or two months?
Your knowledge on this topic is appreciated, thank you again!
Hi Monica,
Thanks for you comment!
I’m not a Doctor, so you ALWAYS need to consult your Doc with these types of questions.
I do recommend you start by checking your D levels using the 25-OH vitamin D test. This time of year (Fall – Winter) is the BEST time to get this done if you think your levels might be low.
Low D levels can lead to a whole host of health issues, so this test can be a great “early warning” indicator.

Thanks for this tip Buck. My son turned 13 today and appears to be getting the flu. We had already canceled his party because most of his friends were sick. I’m tempted to pick up some D3 for him, and the rest of us.
One point I didn’t understand was that you said that D3 helps your body create something similar to “natural antibiotics” that can help fight off the flu. Since the flu is virus how does that help? I can understand how it would help with respiratory infection, but not the virus.
Thanks for any more info you may have.
Hi Tracy,
My friend, Dr. Joe Mercola, says that Vitamin D3 helps to kill the cell walls of bacteria, fungi and viruses.
Here’s a link to his article: Dr. Joseph Mercola’s Tips to Avoid the Swine Flu
His very first point in this article is to make sure you get enough Vitamin D.
I hope your son gets well soon so he can start enjoying being a “teenager!”

hi Buck,
How many IU should you take when your pregnant? I’m not pregnant yet, but I am wondering. I’ve been currenlty taking 5000 IU per day.
thank you!
Hi Kimberly,
My sources say you should take 5,000 IU’s per day if you’re pregnant, so you’re doing just fine!
